  1. Bring your policy details

Health insurance card or policy number, a photo ID (Aadhaar or PAN) and your previous reports.

  2. We check your cover

Our insurance desk checks whether your policy covers Ayurvedic (AYUSH) in-patient treatment and sends the pre-authorisation request to your insurer or TPA.

  3. Treatment begins after approval

Once the insurer approves, you are admitted and treatment starts. Most policies cover AYUSH treatment only for admitted patients, usually for 24 hours or more.

  4. Settle at discharge

We send the final bill to the insurer. You pay only for items your policy does not cover, such as some consumables.

What is usually covered

Cover depends on your policy. Our desk checks your policy before admission.

Usually covered

  • Room charges during admission
  • Doctor consultation during the stay
  • Panchakarma procedures and therapies done as an in-patient
  • Medicines used during admission
  • Tests done during admission

Usually not covered

  • OPD-only visits, unless your policy has OPD cover
  • Treatment that does not need admission
  • Non-medical items such as toiletries and some consumables
  • Anything excluded in your policy document

Reimbursement, step by step

If your insurer is not on the cashless list, you can still claim the money back.

  1. Pay at discharge

If your insurer is not on our cashless list, you pay the bill at discharge.

  2. Collect documents

We give you the discharge summary, itemised bills, payment receipts, reports and prescriptions.

  3. Submit the claim

Submit the claim form with these documents to your insurer or TPA, usually within the time given in your policy.

  4. Get the amount

The insurer checks the claim and pays the approved amount to your bank account.

Documents to bring

  • Health insurance card or policy copy
  • Aadhaar card and PAN card of the patient
  • Employee ID, if the policy is from your employer
  • Old prescriptions and reports (MRI, X-ray, blood tests)
  • A cancelled cheque (for reimbursement claims)

Insurance questions

Still unsure? Call or WhatsApp us and we will answer.

How long does cashless approval take?

It depends on the insurer. Simple approvals can come within a few hours; some take longer when the insurer asks for more details.

Do I have to stay admitted for 24 hours?

Most policies cover in-patient AYUSH treatment that needs at least 24 hours of admission. Your policy document has the exact rule; our desk will check it for you.

What if the approval amount is less than the bill?

You pay the difference at discharge. We explain the estimate before admission so there are no surprises.

Does health insurance cover Ayurvedic treatment?

Many health insurance policies now cover in-patient Ayurvedic (AYUSH) treatment at recognised hospitals. Keshavbaug is NABH-accredited and offers cashless treatment with tie-up insurers. Our desk will check your policy before admission.

Do I have to be admitted for Panchakarma?

Not always. Many therapies such as Kati Basti, Shirodhara and Agnikarma are done in daily OPD sessions. Longer Panchakarma courses and insurance claims usually need admission.

Can I continue my current medicines?

Yes. Please do not stop any medicine on your own. Bring your prescriptions to the first visit so the doctor can plan treatment safely alongside them.

What should I bring on my first visit?

Old prescriptions, MRI, X-ray or blood reports, a list of current medicines, and your insurance card if you plan to use cashless treatment.
